House of the Waited Holly

February is always in my mind. The Valentine's , my wifey birthday and Raya Cina always fall on this month. But for this year I am going to move to another house which is not that far from my current house.
The moment I received the key from my lawyer, I started the gear to do what ever necessary. The quit rent, changes of utilities bill's name, the ownership title and paint the new house. My weekends schedule filled with painting the wall, call the contractors, wiring works, replace the old bulbs, bla.. ba...
I advertised my house fro rental at mudah.com at 11.00 am and gosh.. I got 24 missed calls at 12.45 on Feb 27Th. and that's taught me how efficient the internet advertisement and for those for really on house hunting or tenants hunting , my advise is just go on the net . Don't hire the agent and it will cost you money . Besides they will do the same thing which is on mudah. com or iproperties. There are few numbers of tenancy candidates who came along to have a visit and see the house. From the big boobs with nigger , the clumsy husband with his so called RM 50 deposit and finally I decided granted to the needy ones.
I love Dato' Demang's house very much . The communities are good and there's no issue on race and taboo. Everybody seems understand and tolerates except the school bus who always trespassed our neighbourhood area.
The most thing I am gonna missed is Danyah, the cute Indian Girl next door who never fail to say hi to me and her crying every morning. I really missed that.
The rest like Yogesh n Magesh , En Sabri, Kak Mas , Encik Zainal , Mani, Krishna , Auntie and Faizal, they are rally good buddies, good neighbours.
The new house route might be a lil bit up and down coz of the slope to my house is quite hilly and and I might take another extra 15 minutes to reach the office. I am now in the mood of friend hunting at BPP and I just met Kevin, Lau, ChinEn. Mohamed, Ricky,Harshid and Zaki. Please accept me for the way I am. Equine Rules...

Father 2011: A New Challenge

I am writing this after Bunkface performed with their three piece chord's“Extravaganza” on the TV for a freak live telecast annual song contest. Strangely no ones really undertstand what does " extra" means in this brave new world today. The day is quite bright but cruel with cooking oil ran out of stock, the price hijack of evaporated milk nor the rubber price up to RM 15 per kilo and suddenly it makes feel to go back hometown and be a rubber tapper . It looks everything is now extra-extra and same goes to the subject of raising kids now. Extra concern and extra money. Is it time to string yet another few words into fancy new years resolution? I don’t know especially when you are into mid 30’s and the pace of life has somewhat slowed down. Rock n Roll retired.

I think I‘ll make do with a simple “be a better parents”, but that sounds too vague. It’s almost like not mentioning how many kilos you want to shed and when you say ‘lose some weight”. So how detailed I should be? Today, kids are different bunch compared with those from yesteryear.

And parents have so many alternatives in raising their kids. What should be worried now is the education’s policy, whether science and math should be taught in English or what or is History compulsory to pass or not or what is another five years. Is it still flip flop or any 'hybrid' decision. Another thing is like so many cartoon characters (I only knew Thundercats and Space Cop Gaban) and the annual family vacation to be planned when there is low cost carrier who catered the lower income like me. Kids nowadays no longer ask to be taken to the zoo, pool and museum and I remember how boring Yasmine and Shahnaz were when I brought them to Zoo Taiping, December last year.

I am now paranoid and frighten if one day my kids going to ask for overseas trip for family vacation and at their age, the most far I explored was Royal Nasi Kandar which is 100 km from my hometown. But you can’t compare everything that way .Parents these days have to go overindulging their kids. I’m sure I wouldn’t ask my father to Disneyland Hong Kong if we had low cost airlines operating during our times as I knew my father just could afford it. I don’t know about the others. Either our parents would agree with us they might emphasize the cliché line which is work hard before you enjoy yourselves.

Kids today want instant gratification. Each A in UPSR, PMR or SPM comes with monetary rewards. I beg to differ during 80’s, we would make do with a nod of approval, a smile and a “keep it up” or else that synonym to my father compliment’s chorus..., “Baguih ..belajaq rajin-rajin, Ayah dulu pandai macam ni la…”. I guess that explains why the Gen X’ers are better at managing money while our younger brothers or sisters go out of control with their first credit card. They’d being fished by money too much.

Now I realized, it’s not easy to be a father and so my resolution this year should account for the difficulties and balance them with enjoying the funny moments of two beautiful daughters in their growing years.
To Yasmine , Shahnaz and Zareene... I love you guys more than anything in this world. You guys are my soul and the reason why I’m alive. Love all, serve all.

Alif Ba Ta: A Saga Begins

The power comes with responsibility. No... This is not the political blog and that is not the subject matter. I just want to share some of the experience and talk about the responsibilities. It’s about the responsibilities and I like it. A father of two and now I am committed to God for raising them till die. The generation changed and now what was given from my father is just transfer the baton and where I have to do next.

Yesterday I have sent Yasmine to Quran class at Darul Quran while Shahnaz is still sleeping. It is a four class a week with a very cheap fee. One of my noble duties to my kids after quit from smoking and teaches them how to pray. The Ustaz who teaches Yasmine is half stroked patience but the way he pronounced every single words in Quran is so clear and according the Tajuid rules. The class is quite flexible as I can send her to any days on the weekday’s night and two classes for weekend’s morning.

Before we reached to the class there are groceries and book stores at the shop lots. Yasmine always blinked-blinked her eyes to the shop and since the class had started; she forced me to buy the Rapunzel's comic which I refuse to buy. As a token for her attending the Quran class, I fished her cheaper book.

Sending my daughter to Quran class is reminding me to my kid’s time. I was instructed to learn and read Al- Quran at Makcik Minah Kassim , about 500 metres from my house. I walked at that time. Makcik Minah has many students and she was well known as a good Quran teacher as her tajwid knowledge is certificate’s proven.
I used to go to Mak Cik Minah house almost every night after Maghrib pray with my neighbouring friends, Kiah, Kasmi, Jone and Bawi. We bring along the Muqaddam together with rehal. I enjoyed the class very much and that's where I believed where my social interact was begun.

One of the most memorable thing is, rat race from the ‘ghost’ on the way back from the class. There were four of us who walked every single night and there was one dark night where Bawi and I planned to make fool of them. After the class finished, we walked from Makcik Minah to our house and on the way back, I instructed all friends to take out the slippers as the ghost couldn’t listen our footsteps when we walk. All of us just walk without slippers and by the time we reached Bawi’s house, I screamed “hantu...!!!!” and the rest except me and Bawi, were running like hell and both of us laughed to the max. At that time, the road has not been premixed yet and it was only laid by the crusher run. I couldn’t imagine it, how pain it was running without slippers on the crusher run. So poor and pity but next day, I was scolded by my father and found guilty. I didn’t say even a word and my ears just get ready to being pinched. I was never cry whenever being punished and that's shows how stubborn I was.I pray to God that the stubbornness would'nt being inherited

Kids nowadays maybe have different experience the way they brought up but I find my kampong and folk value is priceless. The old good things.

The Tourist

Despite my vulgar words and loudness, there are feminine sides of me where I really keep to myself. Contradict with my real act; I too am a slow-motion driver, sensitive, tolerance and I do watch cakap banyak movie rather than the action packed one. Well, Jack Black watched Titanic, so do I am.

Odd and awkward when some of the review in the mainstream newspaper gives badly write up to The Tourist. I grabbed the ticket to ensure what had been reported are fraud and false and I just want to make my own judgment. True enough, what had been reported are pee and baseless. I really don’t understand what is the purpose by giving a black mark to this movie or kinda desperate for a cheap-laugh movie like Hantu Kak Limah. I watched both but it is quite unfair to make it as a comparison. One is clever with billion dollar budget while another one is humor-fooled but lo-fi. Both are in different direction but the IP does count, doesn’t matter where it has been produced whether it is Perak, Paris or Venice.

The Tourist is made tailored to those who are really into love story, Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp, and all about conspiracy. This movie made you think, analyze and observe the plots while Hantu Kak Limah is a one day story which too cliché to Mamat Khalid, maximum-laugh, and easy viewed. Mamat Khalid’s movie always hailed the folk value by using the vernacular proportion as subject and some cynical ingredients of the local industry scenario. The using of old local hit numbers and some slapstick acts are another value added recipe to rock the cinema tickets. He is static-avant garde movie maker.

The Tourist is one and a half hour screen shows how a mathematic teacher, Frank Tupello facing a financial criminal case when he trapped into the picture after being flirted by an agent, Elise on his journey to Italy. He struggled facing the corrupted cops who ransomed him to the gangsters but at the same time facing dilemma by crushed on the agent. The Tourist emphasized Johnny Depp’s character which is really unpredictable person and it can be considered a fusion of the Jack Sparrow of Pirates character and the hero of 21 Jump Street . The movie also highlights Angelina Jolie’s gorgeousness-aura by showing her irresistible lips and her sexy curve curve. That was my first intention to watch this movie in the first place. The movie also visualized all good location such as somewhere at Rue de la Fayette in Paris and the viewer might enjoy the visual from the train from Gare du Nord to Italy, the Venice waterscape and the scenic view of Italy. After watching this movie, I find that Italy is so adorable and thinking of to get there one day.

The plot of story was very unpredictable and you can’t walk off for pee. Just wait until the last drop. You might think this bugger doing something wrong but he is not and suddenly the real person captured at the end of story. The same moods as you watch the Nic Cage’s Snake Eyes and maybe some James Bond’s movie where your inner part is fluctuating up and down while thinking what is going to happen next. Just focus on the script, captured what they say and careful of what Elise is doing. You won’t realize both of them are cheating you all this while, until the last scene they’ll tell you who really they are. The movie is all about love versus money, Venice, camouflage but at the end of the movie; the answer of all hidden agenda is Frank Tupelo is Alexander Peace. Four star and full stop.

The New Year's Eve with The Republican

A simple barbeque with bundle of joy,
Hard talk with lots a laughs.
I have them, they have me,
Talk and rough,
Curse and lie,
Friends till die.
Good or bad,
Better or worse,
Smooth or scar,
We are what we are.

The New Years Eve with the Republicans, I mean my BFF from Republic of Kulim Democrats. Even I don’t quite keen into the idea in the first place but after granted a free holiday for winning the AFF Suzuki Cup then I agreed with the idea. Nizam, Mat, Munna Mat Besi and I met again at Udang Kertas (Nizam’s house) for the New Year’s celebration.
